just inspirational challenge

This week we are being sponsored by madcardfairy digi days.
I chose a heart flourish but, by the time i had finished it didn't look like the orginal heart.
I decreased the size of the heart to make petals for flowers and also a butterfly.
The new distress inks were used on the petals called lemonade and the leaves and butterfly i used promarkers.
My background i used distress inks, then finished off with a bow in the middle using american bias binding.
I do hope you go and vist Just Inspirational Challange and see the other design teams work.
many thanks and lots of crafty hugs maria xxxxx

june card swap

Here is my june card swap. The theme was kingdom and castles and as it was close to the Queen's Jubilee at the time I had to do something containing this event.
My swap partner lives in Belgium so I thought this would be great for Anneke.
I used indigo blue stamp and embossed with my favourite products from stampendous. The fran-tage technique. I do like all their products and its like a little chemist going on with all the embossing powders, mica flakes and german glass glitter. A little of this and a bit of that and then watch it all bubble sticking together!!!!!!.
The Union Jack was embossed on newspaper with ivory enamel embossing powder and the background was also stamped and embossed with antique gold. I then distressed with tim holtz inks to give my card colour. I used mahogany, fire brick and barn door and went around the edges with blue jeans.
Then I started to put all my products surrounding the flag! I plaited ribbon with the red, white and blue and put flowers in the corner.
It seems such a long time ago the Queens Jubilee but I still thought I wanted to show my card.
Thank you for reading my blog.

just inspirational challenge

Heyyyyyy 4th July,
Wish I was in America celebrating!!!! So this week we are being sponsored by Beccy's place. We also have a picture for inspiration to use and it has fireworks for the celebration of this day.
I had a lovely image from Beccy of a shoe!, well girls who don't like shoes?????
I decided to make my card using water colour pencils which I then edged with a navy promarker. The rose and leaves I used promarker too as I like to mix different mediums. I glittered the areas where I thought I should put some shading onto the shoe. The rose was then glazed and left over night to dry, as I know I would make a mess because I would be too tempted to touch!
This morning I decorated the shoe with pearls and then started on my background. I wanted a look to imitate the American flag. I know it's not correct but it does have stars and stripes!!!
I roughly cut some strips of red card and I punched out some stars, which I then filled in with white stars.
This was all placed onto navy card and then light blue card.
I finished the card with some ribbon on the edge and I drew some running stitches and some crosses.
So please pop over to our blog and enter our challenge as Beccy is giving away some digi stamps.
Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you enter are challenge.

card swap

Well this is my next swap card that I wanted to put onto my blog.
This card I decided to use my kraft cards that I bought the other day. I used a small image of a little girl which came from Lili of The Valley. I did think the image needed to have a little sparkle so I used sakura pens to give it shine and sparkle.
The image was mat and layered onto some pink card and then onto white card which I used the new summer colour distress ink to match all my colours.
I then placed the card onto two types of scalloped miri card. I used more pink card and then used a square doily which was also coloured with distress ink. I used some lovely small flowers that was in my stash of goodies to frame my image and then placed a small bow to balance the card.
I used gold pen leaf to edged the outside of my card. Pretty quick card really but I did enjoy making it.

card swap - spring

Hi,
this card is for my card swap group, I thought I should put this on my blog to show what I've been up to. We have now changed the name to our group to We Love Our Card Swap. It was about time we changed the name and I think everyone is happy with the changes.
My first card that I made, I used a hydrangea stamp,I love hydrangea's anyway and I thought it was fitting with the theme . I stamped with distress ink and then painted with the ink. To get different shades I used good old sakura pens. These where my first purchase and every now and again I use them as it gives me great colour with a little sparkle.
The edges where stamped and embossed in white wow embossing powder, and then also distressed. This was then put onto some miri card where I embossed some lines to frame the picture. It was then mounted onto some brown card where I used the same stamp to emboss the edges and then used the wow powder again so it all matched. I finished the card with purple bow and then placed pearl cosmic shimmer to the flowers and embellished with some pearls.
i hope my swap partner likes my card.

Design Team challenge

This card I used the inspirational picture given to us to use.  This was a good opportunity to use my pan pastels.  I would say they are not the easiest medium to use but by taking your time it does give you a good result.  I used distress inks for the edges to darken them.  I'm so pleased with the result.  I do hope you like it.

Kenny K Challenge

This week's challenge for Inspirational Challenge is to use an image from Kenny K.  I don't normally make cards with these images, but I must admit I did enjoy making this card.  It gives you the opportunity to use your promarkers and practice on shading.
I hope you like this card.

Just Inspirational Challenges

I'm pleased to announce that I'm on Just Inspirational design team.  I've been on the design team for a couple of months now and I'm enjoying it so much.
My first challenge i used an inspirational picture where i used my promarkers and prisma pencils.  The picture was a tree house in a fields, so i used my molly bloom stamp and the rest was with pens and pencils.
here's my card

card swap

Gosh it's been ages since I last blogged and I thought it was about time to get on with some work and show you what I've been up to.

I participate in a  monthly card swap which I help to run as I'm in admin to make sure crafter's get paired up so we can exchange our creations.
Last month's theme was red roses, so I'll show you my cards for the swap.
The first card I used a Kanban stamp and coloured in with  promarkers.  The image was cut out and placed onto some card.  The edges were punched with a Marther Stewart punch then i glittered certain parts of the roses.
The second card I stamped an image from Chocolate Baroque and used promarkers.  The image was distressed with ink and then placed onto different card.  I used ribbon to decorate the bottom of the card and glittered some of the image.
I do hope my card swaps are liked by my friends

valentine

How lucky was I when I woke up valentine morning with a huge arrangement of pink and white flowers.  Married to me and being a florist he wanted to please and make me happy by buying nothing but the best, and he didn't disappoint.  He is a romantic at heart but what he didn't buy me was a card!!!  I asked why he would buy flowers and not a card?  His answer was he was sure he could please me with flowers but when it comes to cards then I'm difficult to please!!!!!  My response to that was I would rather he made me a card or even cut out a heart anything but he knew that if he bought one it wouldn't be the same and he is right.  A card made by your own hands means so much more.  But I didn't mind at all as the flowers will last me a couple of weeks.

Here are some cards I made for valentines. One is from crafty individual and the other is from paper artsy.  As per usual loved making them using embossing powder, heart punches and coloured in copics, all for the theme of love.

That Craft Place next Challenge "By The Seaside"

This challenge was "by the Seaside".  I used a crafty individual stamp of some friends having fun at the seaside.  I coloured the image with copics and then trebled embossed with embossing powder, but unfortunately my camera is in need  of a new friend so you can see more detail !!!!!!
That Craft Place sell plenty of stamps so have a look at their website as they have  lots of crafty individuals. I must admit there is a large selection of different styles to suit anybodies taste.

My next card is my favourite Molly Bloom!!  In this card I used 4 different stamps and put them together to form a beach scene.
Molly is coloured in promarkers and i went over with copic glitter pens to add depth where needed.  The shells come all the way from Sicily, I knew i would need them some day!

My last card is a mixture of all sorts.  Really enjoyed making this card as there was alot of masking.  I made sure though I kept them all as it took ages cutting them out!  This image I used spectrum noirs to colour in, That Craft Place have now got limited stock of the extra sets.  I have my name down for one of them so fingers crossed I'll get mine soon, so give them a ring to see if they have any left!
Well I hope you like the cards that I've made, and thank you for taking the time to read my blog! xxx

The next card I made for the challenge I used 3 different stamp sets from Polka Doodle to make a larger picture.  I used promarkers and then highlighted the picture with copic glitters.

The last creation I made was a tag.  I used a Crafty Individual stamp which i stamped and embossed and then coloure in with promarkers.  I distressed the tags with distress ink and tied them together with different ribbon and placed a button with some decorative wired gems.  I hope you like this.

An other Challenge Home Sweet Home

My next challenge for That Craft Place was Home Sweet Home.  I loved this challenge as I used a Tando kit which i used decorative paper and acrylic paint.  I will definitely be buying these kits again.

These  cards were made for the unexpected birthday or just to say........  I really need to build my stock up with cards as I'm finding my family just comes over to help themselves, and then when I need a card there's nothing in my box!

third card for the challenge buttons and bows

This last card I used Paper Artsy Stamp. I used Joanna Sheen paper for the background and stamped imaged onto card.  I  coloured the tree with promarkers  and  aqua  markers.   I  embellished the tree with small yellow buttons and before placing on decorative paper I  rouged  ribbon  on the edge of the card.  I do like this effect, I think I might use this technique again!
I do hope you liked my cards for this challenge and inspired you to be creative in using ribbon instead of paper.

second card to the challenge

I loved making this card,  I made my background using 2 different coloured ribbon and made a lattice background to give me a beautiful affect.  It took a long time but I think the results are worth it it.  An other stamped image and coloured in with promarkers and glittered using copic pens.  More buttons were used to embellish the bottom of the card while I added feathers, ribbon, diamante stems and a hat pin, secured with a button in the centre.

buttons and bows

My challenge for that craft place was buttons and bows.
well it was a nice change as Christmas is now over and I don't want to see anything to do with Christmas!!
so here are my cards that i made for my contribution to the design team.
I used a really beautiful stamp from Bildmalarna.  I stamped and coloured in with promarkers and then high lighted areas with copic sparkle pens.  I used different shades and size of pink ribbon to make a flower and stuck a pink button in the centre. Then made the card into an easel card.  I hope you like my creation

a special card

this card was made for a really special friend.  it's was for her grandson which he no longer with us.  it was made with love and care as it was for a special person "his daddy",
